Elizabeth police are investigating the cause of a serious crash that killed one person and left another critically injured Wednesday night.
The collision, involving a vehicle and a motorcycle, happened around 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of Newark Avenue and Fairmount Avenue.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, where they found one of the victims severely injured after being ejected from the motorcycle.
Both victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
The most seriously injured victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police secured the crash scene and are actively working to determine what caused the deadly wreck.
