One Dead, Another Seriously Injured After Old Bridge Crash Causes Car to Ignite in Flames

One person was killed and another suffered severe injuries in a Middlesex County crash Sunday morning. 

Police released little details regarding the crash, but according to a preliminary investigation, the violent collision happened around 2:15 a.m. on Texas Road and Murray Drive in Old Bridge. 

Police say emergency responders arrived at the intersection and found a vehicle heavily involved in flames with at least one trapped occupant and another car seriously damaged with an injured person inside. 

Emergency responders could not save the individual in the burning vehicle, but rescue crews extricated an unidentified person from the other car. 

The victim was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, suffering a leg injury. 

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the collision, which remains under an active and ongoing investigation.
