One Dead, Another Injured in Bridgeton Shooting

A shooting in Bridgeton on Thursday evening left one man dead and another hospitalized with injuries, according to information released by the Bridgeton Police Department.

Police said officers responded to the 4000 block of Avery Avenue at approximately 5:55 p.m. on July 31 after receiving reports of a shooting.

 

When officers arrived, they found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Both victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities said one of the men later died from his injuries, while the second victim remains hospitalized.

 

Detectives said the individuals involved were known to one another, and investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Bridgeton Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

 

According to information released by Bridgeton police, no additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or any potential arrests have been announced.
