An early morning crash killed one person after a motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer in Carteret.
The crash took place near the vicinity of 1000 Blair Road just before 4:55 a.m. where emergency responder rushed to the scene after they received reports of a collision with injuries.
According to preliminary reports, rescue crews arrived at the scene and found a motorcycle wedged under the truck with the severely injured motorcyclist lying on the ground at that location.
Medical personnel began unsuccessful life-saving techniques on the unconscious and unresponsive person. Crews pronounced the person dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
