A car that crashed into a building in Newark left one person dead.
The crash happened near the intersection of Sherman Avenue and East Peddie Street shortly before 3:45 a.m. where Newark Emergency Responders were called to the scene after receiving reports of a crash with serious injuries.
Arriving rescue crews found the badly damaged vehicle with one person trapped inside according to reports.
Crews swiftly extricated the victim but from the vehicle but medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The victim's identity has not been released.
