Authorities in West Milford have arrested a Passaic County man following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving an incapacitated victim.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Department Chief Shannon Sommerville announced that Jay Boone, 54, of Ogdensburg, was taken into custody on March 26, 2026.

Boone is charged with two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.

According to officials, officers were dispatched at approximately 4:52 p.m. on February 26, 2026, to a residential facility in the area of Oak Ridge Road and Paradise Road.

Upon arrival, police learned that a 40-year-old incapacitated woman from Ringwood reported being forced into unwanted sexual contact with a male employee on two occasions that same day.

Following an investigation, Boone was identified as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Authorities said he later turned himself in at West Milford Police Headquarters at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 26.

If convicted, Boone faces a potential sentence of three to five years in New Jersey State Prison on each count.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion for pretrial detention, seeking to have Boone held in the county jail pending the outcome of the case.

A detention hearing is expected to be scheduled at a later date.

Authorities emphasized that the charges are accusations, and Boone is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
