NY Man Succumbed to Injuries, Charges Upgraded in Ramsey Crash

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced today new and more serious charges have been filed against Thomas M. Moylan Jr. , 27, of Mahwah in connection with a hit and run that occurred in Ramsey on August 15. 

Early today, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit members and Ramsey Police were notified that the victim on the August 15th hit & run, Samuel Tarrant, 55 of Kew Gardens, NY, had succumbed to injuries suffered in the collision and died at Westchester Medical Center in New York.

As a result, Moylan Jr. was re-arrested by Ramsey Police this morning without incident. 

He has been charged with 2nd degree leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision, contrary to NJSA 2C:11-5.1; and 3rd degree being Involved in a fatal motor vehicle collision while driving with a suspended license. 

A new bail was set by the Honorable Russell B. Teschon, JMC, at $50,000, without option to post 10%.
