NWS: Mild Saturday Morning in Newark with Overnight Rain to Follow

Residents in the Newark and North Jersey region are waking up to a pleasantly mild Saturday morning following a rainy night.

The National Weather Service forecasts patchy fog before 10 am but expects it to clear up, giving way to a mostly cloudy day with a high near 56 degrees.AdThough the weather will feel quite comfortable, those planning outdoor activities should consider a light jacket, as there will be a gentle southwest wind blowing at 3 to 6 mph.

As the day progresses into the night, there's a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., followed by rain after 1 a.m..

The temperature is expected to drop to a low of around 47 degrees. A calm wind will shift to the northeast at 5 to 7 mph after midnight.

The chance of precipitation increases to 80%, with new rainfall amounts predicted to be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.

Residents should enjoy the mild temperatures during the day but prepare for a wetter night ahead.
