Man Allegedly Found Growing Marijuana Plants in His Northvale Backyard

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Joseph Scaglione, 61, of Northvale.

A narcotics investigation revealed that Scaglione was involved in the illegal growing of marijuana plants.

According to authorities, on September 15th, law enforcement personnel conducted a search of Scaglione's residence as well as the exterior of his residence. This search revealed ten large marijuana plants growing in his backyard, and several more ounces of marijuana, anabolic steroids, and $5,610.00 of U.S. currency in the residence.  

Scaglione was charged with Growing ten or more but less than fifty marijuana plants, Possession with the Intent to Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, Namely Marijuana in an amount over one ounce but less than five pounds, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Anabolic Steroids.

Scaglione was issued a criminal summons and released on his own recognizance.

These charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
