North Bergen Township Hosts 29th Annual Winterfest Celebration

North Bergen Township officials announced that the Township of North Bergen kicked off the holiday season last night with the return of its annual Winterfest celebration!AdAccording to officials, which saw thousands in attendance as North Bergen turned into Dr. Seus’ Whoville for the evening.

The festivities began as usual with a parade down Bergenline Avenue, officials said, featuring family-friendly music, activities, games, food, and, of course, Santa!

“Every year, we make this night special for all of the children and their families, and it wouldn’t be possible without the tremendous help of our incredible police officers, Township staff, including members of the DPW, and other volunteers who help us bring joy and happiness to our residents. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday and a very happy new year!” said North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco. 

Honorable Mayor Sacco was joined by Commissioners Allen Pascual, Hugo Cabrera, Claudia Rodriguez, Anthony Vainieri, County Commissioner Robert Baselice, Assemblyman-elect Julio Marenco, and Sheriff Frank Schillari, officials say.

As well as Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a plethora of other characters, including Cindy Lou Who, Barbie & Ken, the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, the Abominable Snowman, and many more, officials said.

According to officials, Winterfest takes place on Bergenline Avenue between 76th and 85th streets and has grown in size each year since its inception in 1994.

Among other things, officials stated, this year’s event featured food from local restaurants, performances from the chorus groups from each of the township’s public schools, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and other entertainment, including multiple bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, soccer darts, ice skating, and much more.

The Township, the Nicholas J Sacco Foundation, local businesses, and countless volunteers support this event.
