Authorities in Hudson County are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash involving a New Jersey Transit bus that occurred earlier this week in North Bergen.
The incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the area of Bergenline Avenue and JFK Boulevard East.
North Bergen police officers responding to the scene found an injured man who had been struck by a NJ Transit bus, which remained at the location.
The victim was later identified as Alan Harris, 66, of Hackensack.
He was transported to Palisades Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Following notification of the victim’s death, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit assumed control of the investigation on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
The investigation is being conducted with assistance from the North Bergen Police Department.
