According to a statement released by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, a Hudson County jury has found a North Bergen man guilty on all charges connected to the 2024 shooting death of a Hoboken resident.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 35-year-old Albert Morales of North Bergen was convicted of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of Damon Murray.
The verdict followed a trial before Judge Mitzy Galis-Menendez. The case was prosecuted by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Ed Bilinkas.
Authorities said the investigation began shortly after 11:30 p.m. on April 28, 2024, when Hoboken police responded to reports of gunfire near 320 Marshall Drive in Hoboken. Officers located a crime scene outside the building.
Damon Murray, 21, of Hoboken, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported by private vehicle to Jersey City Medical Center.
He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on April 29, 2024.
Sentencing for Morales is expected at a later date.
