Non-Life Threatening Injuries For Newark Police Officer Involved in Crash

A Newark Police officer was taken to the hospital with complaints of back and neck injuries at around 9:45 a.m. on West Alpine and Irvine Turner Boulevard after a brief pursuit turned crash of a vehicle that was reportedly carjacked. 

Officers were able to apprehend the suspect during a foot pursuit in the 80's block of Johnson Ave. a short time after the crash. 

The officer's injuries are considered non-life threatening.
