Non-Fatal Injuries for Person Found Stabbed in the Chest in Newark

There were non-life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a violent stabbing that occurred at a location in Newark on Saturday evening.

According to officials, police were called to the intersection of Broad and Pennington streets to investigate reports of an injured person shortly before 5 p.m.

Upon arrival, police requested EMS on a rush after they found an unidentified person suffering stab a wound to the chest according to reports.

The unidentified person was transported to University Hospital for treatment and expected to survive according to Newark Police officials.

The motive for the stabbing is under investigation, according to police. There were no official reports of arrests at this time.
