Wayne Police say a routine patrol turned into a violent struggle after officers encountered a woman with multiple active warrants in the parking lot of the Quality Inn on Route 46.

According to police, around 6:17 p.m. on November 11, 2025, Officers Harrison Kirby and Louis Trentacost spotted Galaxistar Douglas sitting in a Volkswagen and recognized her from a prior arrest.
A warrant check confirmed she had several active criminal warrants.
When officers informed Douglas she was being taken into custody, she allegedly became argumentative and refused to comply.
Police say she grabbed the steering wheel, kicked both officers as they tried to remove her from the vehicle, and continued resisting on the ground.
During the struggle, Douglas reportedly bit Officer Kirby on the arm.
Once handcuffed and brought to a patrol car, police say Douglas spit in Officer Trentacost’s face.
At headquarters, she allegedly continued spitting and yelling, leading officers to physically remove her from a holding cell so she could be taken to a hospital for evaluation.
She was later cleared and transported to the Passaic County Jail. Officer Kirby received medical treatment for the bite injury.

Douglas is charged with criminal mischief, two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction, and throwing bodily fluids at law enforcement.
