NJ Turnpike Crash Leaves Elizabeth Man Critical

An overnight wrong-way crash on New Jersey Turnpike in Newark, sent a 37-year-old Elizabeth man to the hospital in critical condition, according to state police.

Police were called to the northbound section of the highway shortly after 12:30 a.m. for a report of a crash.

Initial investigation revealed that Henri Orellana was driving his 2003 Saturn into oncoming traffic when he collided with a vehicle.

Orellana was transported to University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The unidentified driver of the second vehicle was transported to University Hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by police.
