NJ Transit Train Engineers to Strike if Agreement Not Made

New Jersey

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen announced this afternoon that voting by member NJ Transit locomotive engineers had concluded, with a unanimous decision of withdrawing from service (stiking) should the union and the railroad fail to reach an agreement to settle their contract dispute under processes set forth in the Railway Labor Act.

NJTransit and the BLE&T have been in contract negotiations since April 2011, and mediated contract negotiations since June 11, 2014.

An agreement has not yet been reached.
