NJ Transit Police are searching for an individual wanted in connection with a disturbance that occurred on a bus in Newark's West Ward on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened near the intersection of South Orange Avenue and Munn Avenue when NJ Transit police responded to reports of an "unruly customer" on the recently acquired #31 bus line.

Upon arrival, NJ Transit officials reported that officers found the bus pulled over with approximately 10 passengers on board. The unruly passenger had exited the bus after causing the disturbance.

Witnesses recounted that the unidentified suspect had shouted threats loudly while on the bus.

NJ Transit officials indicated that the remaining passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their route as investigators looked into the incident.

NJ Transit took over the 31 bus line during the summer after the discontinuation of the line by the ONE Company, which included the #24 and #44 bus routes.

On October 9, NJ Transit initiated emergency bus services to support affected customers.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident on the #31 bus.
