NJ Transit Police Arrests Armed Suspect in Jersey City

NJ Transit Police said on Thursday, July 1, Transit Police Officer Krause and Detective Costain were canvassing near Garfield Avenue Station in Jersey City.

According to authorities, the officers were searching for a suspect wanted for an armed robbery via handgun. 

While in the area, Officer Krause observed the suspect on foot. Covertly, Krause and Detective Costain directed NJTPD patrol units to the location.

With the assistance of Officers Markowitz and Graybill, the man was safely apprehended, officials said. 

Officials said the suspect was carrying a loaded revolver. 

This suspect was also believed to be responsible for an attempted home invasion in Jersey City, burglary into six vehicles at Metro Park Station, and is a person of interest in several NYPD cases.
