NJ Transit Investigates Fatal Train Incident in Monmouth County

NJ Transit officials are currently investigating a tragic event that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Monmouth County, where a train struck and fatally injured an adult male.AdThe incident took place at approximately 3:52 p.m. near the Hazlet Station in the vicinity of Holmdel Road on the North Jersey Coast Line.

According to NJ Transit authorities, the train involved was being moved along the track, and no passengers were on board at the time of the accident.

There were no injuries reported among the train crew. However, the collision resulted in the death of an individual who has not yet been identified.

The incident had caused delays to select trains operating on the North Jersey Coast Line, as emergency responders and NJ Transit Police arrived at the scene to conduct preliminary investigations and ensure the safety of the area.

NJ Transit Police are taking the lead on the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal strike.
