A NJ TRANSIT bus and two vehicles were involved in a late-night crash Tuesday in Newark, authorities said.
According to NJ TRANSIT, the incident occurred at approximately 11:08 p.m. on January 13, while a bus operating on the No. 34 line was traveling eastbound on Market Street near the intersection of Beaver Street.
Officials said an automobile traveling in the opposite direction lost control and struck the rear of the bus before continuing on and colliding with a second vehicle.
Four passengers who were riding on the bus were not injured.
The bus operator and the driver of the first vehicle were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
NJ TRANSIT said bus passengers were accommodated by a following bus, allowing service to continue with minimal disruption.
The crash remains under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
