NJ Transit Bus Driver Injured in Collision With Tractor-Trailer in Newark

A collision involving an NJ Transit bus and a tractor-trailer in Newark left a bus operator with minor injuries Tuesday evening.

According to information released by NJ Transit, the crash occurred at approximately 5:11 p.m. September 15 near West Market and Hudson streets.

 

Officials said the Route 1 bus had completed its run and was out of service when it traveled north on West Market Street. There were no passengers aboard.

 

As the bus approached the Hudson Street intersection, it made contact with a tractor-trailer traveling in the opposite direction.

 

The bus operator suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by local EMS. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.

 

Newark Police are leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
