Police say this disturbance, occurring just before 9:50 p.m., was initiated by police responding to a reported large-scale altercation near 226 Pacific Street.

Upon arrival, Jersey City Police found shell casings at the scene, and evidence of gunfire that had erupted during the altercation.

In response, the area was cordoned off by Jersey City Cease Fire, a unit specializing in gun violence response. Despite a thorough search of the area, no victims were discovered.
