Authorities announced that a 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting at Mill Dam Park in Mount Holly last month.

According to a statement released by Burlington County law enforcement officials, the teenager was taken into custody Thursday at the Burlington County Courts Facility and is being held at the Ocean County Jail.
He faces charges of murder and weapons offenses.
Investigators said the teen allegedly shot Andre Ross (pictured), 25, once in the back on September 25 around 5:45 p.m. at the park.
Ross, who lived nearby, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ross’ mother described the tragedy as “senseless,” reflecting the pain felt by family and community members following the deadly incident.
The case remains under investigation by county authorities.
