A 15-year-old Mullica Township resident has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man whose vehicle crashed along Route 30 late last month.
According to information released by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Mullica Township police officers responded late Friday evening, June 24, to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 30 and Snow Hill Road.
When officers arrived, they found the driver, identified as Javonte Stallworth, 19, of Mullica Township, dead inside the vehicle.
Investigators determined Stallworth had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.
Authorities said witnesses reported seeing two individuals flee the crash scene on foot.
A short time later, officers located and detained two juvenile passengers who had been riding in the vehicle with Stallworth.
Both were taken to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office for questioning.
Following the investigation, prosecutors charged one of the juveniles, identified only as A.H., 15, of Mullica Township, with aggravated manslaughter and multiple firearms-related offenses.
The juvenile was remanded to the Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Center pending further court proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
