NJ State Police Participates in Safe Driver Week

New Jersey

The New Jersey State Police Transportation Safety Bureau will partner with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance in Operation Safe Driver Week.

The initiative takes place from October 15-21 in all 50 states as well as Mexico & Canada.

During the week, there will be heightened traffic safety enforcement and education aimed at combating dangerous driving behaviors of trucks, buses and commercial vehicles. Patrols will also focus on the interaction of passenger vehicles in the vicinity of commercial vehicles.

State Police Units participating during the week are the Commercial Carrier Safety Inspection Unit, the Hazardous Materials Transportation Enforcement Unit and the Mobile Safe Freight Training Unit.

To kick off Operation Safe Driver Week, members of the Commercial Carrier Safety Inspection South Region were on hand in Hammonton this weekend for “Teens & Trucks Education Awareness.”
