NJ State Police Confirms Three Fatalities in I-80 Crash in Parsippany

NJ State Police confirmed fatalities for victims of a crash that occurred on a major interstate in Morris County NJ early Friday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at approximately 1:47 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-80 in Parsippany.

Reports say the two-vehicle crash caused occupants of one of the cars to become trapped after the car ignited into flames.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze then pulled the victims from the car with one person receiving CPR at that location according to reports.

NJ State Police said three victims were pronounced dead but has not said if there were any other injuries at this time.

Police are attempting to determine if the crash was a head-on collision.

State Transportation officials on NJ511 said the following: "As of 3:05 am, there's a crash investigation on I-80 express lanes eastbound and just west of Exit 45 Beverwyck Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills Twp. All lanes are closed and detoured".
