NJ State Police Arrest Two for Phillipsburg Gas Station Robbery

Bloomsbury, Boro, N.J. – The New Jersey State Police have arrested Brian Johnson, 42, and Brett Johnson, 28, both of Phillipsburg, N.J., for allegedly robbing a gas station at gunpoint in Bloomsbury Boro, Hunterdon County.

Acording to police, on November 24, 2018, a masked suspect entered the Citgo Gas Station on State Highway 173, brandished a silver revolver, and demanded money from the cashier. He reportedly left the store on foot after the cashier

handed him money from the register.

Plice say during the five-month investigation, detectives from the Troop “B” Criminal Investigation Office along with detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office used various investigative means to establish

evidence linking Brian and Brett Johnson to the robbery.

Detectives allege that Brett Johnson was the suspect who entered the gas station while Brian Johnson drove the getaway car.

Police say on Tuesday, June 11, members of the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit, Electronic Surveillance Unit, Troop “B” CIO and Perryville troopers located Brian Johnson and Brett Johnson at different locations in Phillipsburg, N.J. and arrested them without incident.

Brett Johnson and Brian Johnson were both charged with 1st degree armed robbery and lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.

Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
