NJ School Bus Driver Charged with Possession, Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors

Authorities in Monmouth County announced that a Manalapan man who recently obtained a new job as a school bus driver in Jackson Township was arrested and charged with the possession and distribution of explicit minor abuse materials.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said Brian R. McBride, 28, was arrested and charged on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. 

Authorities say the charges were one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Distribution of Explicit Minor Abuse Materials, and one count of third-degree Possession of Explicit Minor Abuse Materials, Possession of Explicit Minor Abuse Materials.

According to officials, an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Bureau and the Monmouth County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, initiated by a tip received through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, revealed that McBride was in possession of explicit minor abuse materials and distributing some via social media.

Convictions of this nature are commonly punishable by terms of up to 10 years in state prison, along with being subject to the provisions of Megan’s Law registration and Parole Supervision for Life, officials stated.
