A 29-year-old Toms River man died early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Hazlet, according to New Jersey State Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:08 a.m. in the northbound express lanes near milepost 117.8.
Authorities say the driver, identified as Jonathan Harnish, lost control of his vehicle, veered off the roadway to the left, and struck several trees.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Harnish dead.
State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
