An Atlantic County Grand Jury has indicted an Egg Harbor Township man in connection with a fatal head-on crash that claimed the life of an 87-year-old woman last year, according to authorities.

Prosecutors announced that Jahin Alam, 28, of Egg Harbor Township, was indicted on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, on a charge of third-degree reckless vehicular homicide following an investigation into a deadly collision in Mays Landing.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on July 26, 2025, along Ocean Heights Avenue.

Investigators determined that Alam’s vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Eileen Kusnirik, 87, of Egg Harbor Township.

Kusnirik suffered severe injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

She later died on July 31, 2025, as a result of injuries sustained in the collision, authorities said.

The investigation was conducted by the Hamilton Township Police Department with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Investigation Unit.

The indictment moves the case forward in the criminal court process. No further details were immediately released.
