A South Jersey man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he carjacked a tow truck, struck two vehicles head-on, and injured several people Monday afternoon.

According to the Washington Township Police Department, the incident unfolded around 1:49 p.m. on March 30 near Delsea Drive and Salina Road.
Investigators say a tow truck operator with Riehl’s Towing had stopped near a Dollar General to secure a vehicle on his flatbed when an unidentified man suddenly entered the truck and drove off.
The victim was thrown from the vehicle during the incident and suffered injuries.

Police said the suspect then drove erratically along Delsea Drive, crossing into oncoming traffic and crashing head-on into two vehicles.
Both drivers were injured and transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The suspect fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by Officer Matthew Tucker. Authorities identified him as Dylan Davis, 27, of Mantua.
Based on observations at the scene, officers believed Davis was under the influence. A telephonic warrant was obtained to conduct a blood draw at a local hospital.
Davis has been charged with first-degree carjacking, third-degree theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault by auto, and driving while intoxicated.

The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed.
