NJ Man Arrested for Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors

Camden County New Jersey

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Runnemede Police Chief Paul Dailey announced that James Merna, 46, of Runnemede, was charged with Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors and Possession of Explicit Images of Minors.

Detectives from the High-Tech Crimes Unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant on Jan. 8th, for James Merna’s residence on 3rd Street off of the Black Horse Pike. An on-site preview of Merna’s laptop led to the above charges being filed against him.

Officials say authorities located numerous digital devices that were taken to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office’s HTCU Forensic Lab to be analyzed.

James Merna was transported to the Runnemede Police Department where he was processed and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility. Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order that he be detained without bail or released with conditions.

The investigation is ongoing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
