A Piscataway man has pleaded guilty to a drug distribution charge following an Atlantic City traffic stop that reportedly uncovered fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.
According to information released by authorities, Colvin Cumberbatch, 43, pleaded guilty Thursday, August 20, to third-degree possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. Under the plea agreement, prosecutors are recommending a three-year New Jersey State Prison sentence.
The charge stems from an April 1 traffic stop conducted by Atlantic City Police. Authorities said a police K-9 alerted officers to the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle.
A subsequent search reportedly uncovered 213 wax folds containing fentanyl, two bags of cocaine and 43 pills later confirmed to be methamphetamine.
Cumberbatch was released pending sentencing despite an objection from the state.
