NJ Judge Dismisses Warrant Against Jazmine Headley Who Was Admitted into PTI

New Jersey Mercer County

A New Jersey judge dismissed a warrant against a 23-year-old New York woman who was admitted today into the pretrial intervention program, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.

Officials say the program requires a 36-month maximum period of supervision for Jazmine Headley, of Brooklyn, NY. Judge Peter E. Warshaw also ordered Headley to perform 20 hours of community service and make restitution in an amount to be determined.

Upon successful completion of the program, the three charges against Headley would be dismissed. Judge Warshaw executed the warrant and ordered Headley released.

The pretrial intervention program, or PTI, provides defendants, generally first-time

offenders, with opportunities for alternatives to the traditional criminal justice process of ordinary prosecution.

PTI seeks to render early rehabilitative services when such services can reasonably be expected to deter future criminal behavior.

The charges of credit card theft against Headley stemmed from a 2016 arrest.
