Industry:
Based upon filings with the Division of Gaming Enforcement, Total Gaming Revenue for July was $334.4 million compared to $302.1 million in July 2018, reflecting a 10.7% increase.
Casino Win for July was $277.2 million increasing 1.8% from the same month last year. Internet Gaming Win was $39.3 million in July compared to $25.9 million in the prior period, reflecting an increase of 51.8%.
Sports Wagering Gross Revenue was $17.9 million for the month, increasing from $3.8 million from the same month last year.
For the year-to-date, the Industry’s Total Gaming Revenue was $1.925 billion through July 2019 compared to $1.563 billion in the prior period, reflecting an increase of 23.2%.
Casino Win was $1.541 billion reflecting a 10.9% increase over the prior period. Internet Gaming Win increased by 55.2% to $256.8 million when compared to the prior period. Sports Wagering Gross Revenue was $127.5 million.
Tax Information:
For the month of July 2019, total gaming taxes were $27.7 million. Total gaming taxes reflect 8% of taxable casino gross revenue, 15% of Internet gaming gross revenue, 8.5% tax on casino and racetrack sports wagering gross revenue and 13% tax on the casino and racetrack sports wagering Internet gross revenue.
In addition, the casino industry incurred $4.5 million in 1.25% Additional Tax on sports wagering gross revenue and Investment Alternative Tax Obligations (which reflects 1.25% of casino gross revenue and 2.5% of Internet gaming gross revenue).
For the month of July 2019, the Racetrack Economic Development Tax of 1.25% of racetrack sports wagering gross revenue was $138,275.
