NJ Corrections Officer Convicted for Sexually Abusing Two Inmates

A senior corrections officer at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women accused of sexually abusing five inmates was convicted today on charges he abused two of them and engaged in a pattern of misconduct.

According to Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office, a jury found Jason Mays guilty of another 10 counts of charges ranging from sexual assault to criminal coercion connected to allegations of abuse of three other women.

Officials said in the last two years a total of eight employees have been criminally charged with sexually abusing inmates.
