A Newark woman was arrested and charged with stealing from her Kenilworth employer authorities said.
Police arrested Michelle Pennant, 38, of Newark for stealing in excess of $10,000.00 from her employer according to authorities.
Authorities saif Pennant worked for the Kenilworth business for over two years.
In that time she was able to access the company’s payroll accounts and cash or deposit unauthorized checks payable to herself authorities said.
The Kenilworth detective bureau conducted an investigation and arrested Pennant today at her workplace.
Pennant was charged with one count of 3rd degree Theft by Deception.
Authoritiies did not immediately release the name of the business.
Pennant was released from custody and has a schedule appearance in Union County Superior Court on January 27, 2016
