Newark Woman Admits Driving Getaway Car During Springfield, Parsippany Bank Robberies

A Newark woman admitted being the getaway driver during two bank robberies in Springfield and Parsippany.

Quiama S. Harris, 30, admitted driving the car and taking part of the proceeds from the Investors Saving Bank robbery in Springfield on Dec. 18, 2013 and the Santander Bank robbery on December 23, 2013 in Parsippany.

Harris also admitting to entering the Parsippany bank prior to the robbery to see how many people were in the bank at that time. In both incidents, Harris said she used the same Toyota Corolla.

Last November, Avery Spotswood, 44, of Newark, admitted passing a handwritten note demanding money while threatening to have a bomb in both bank robberies.

In court yesterday, Harris claims she received $300 for the Springfield robbery and $150 for the Parsippany robbery. 

According to reports, a total of $8,324 were stolen from the banks.  Spotswood in November during his plea, claimed that the proceeds were split "50-50" with Harris.

Harris could face a six year sentence.

Harris' sentencing is scheduled for July 10.
