There were no injuries reported in an armed robbery that occurred in a Newark West Ward neighborhood overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police were flagged down by the victim shortly before 12:35 a.m. and reported to officers that a male suspect approached them armed with a weapon in the vicinity of South Orange Avenue and West End.
The suspect reportedly wore an American flag scarf on his face when he took personal possessions from the victim reports said.
The suspect ran from the scene in an unknown direction.
Police are actively investigating.
