Newark Trio Arrested, Charged with Armed Robbery

Officials today announced the arrest of Khasif Parrish, 34, Rondell Mines, 19, and Cherelle Cachio, 30, all of Newark, for an armed robbery that occurred yesterday.

According to authorities, at approximately 4:45 p.m., police responded to the 100-block of North 7th Street on a robbery call.

Upon arrival, police met with the victim who told them that he was robbed at gunpoint by two men and a woman who exited a black 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer and demanded his cash.

Members of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department located the suspects’ Trailblazer at Gould Avenue and 12th Street and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Newark Police Division members identified Parrish, Mines and Cachio as the robbery suspects and each was arrested and charged with Robbery and Conspiracy.

Police charged Khasif Parrish with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Possession of CDS. Both Parrish and Cachio are also charged with Contempt on outstanding warrants.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
