Established as one of the U.S. Department of Education's longest-standing recognition initiatives, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program salutes superior schools for their overall academic prowess or their strides in bridging the achievement gap among diverse student populations.

The program's mission is to champion the concerted efforts of students, educators, and communities in shaping outstanding and inclusive educational settings and to inspire other schools to adopt these successful methodologies.

Every year, an award ceremony is held in Washington, D.C., where the chosen National Blue Ribbon Schools are presented with a plaque and a flag, symbolizing their distinguished status.

A comprehensive list of the 2023 awardees, including the New Jersey schools, can be found on the U.S. Department of Education's official website.
