Newark Teacher Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Newark

A Newark educator suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a vehicle struck her at a location in the city on Sunday. 

Newark emergency repsonders were dispatched to the intersection of Hartford and Norfold streets to investigate reports of a person struck by a car around 12:20 p.m. 

Upon arrival, police and rescue crews found the woman injured after a car struck her and fled the scene. 

According to witnesses, the driver reportedly assisted the educator up from the street before reentering the car and driving off. 

Police believe that the driver occupied a dark-colored Hyundai that now remains at large. 

The incident is under investigation.
