Newark Suspect Wanted for Theft of Woman's Purse

Police in Newark seeks the public's assistance in identifying a potential suspect wanted for a theft that occurred on Wednesday, September 26th.

According to a statement released by police, the victim reported that she left her office and returned to find that her bag with her phone, purse and other personal items were stolen.

Police say the incident occurred between 6:40 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Washington Street.

Detectives investigating the theft developed information identifying the pictured male as a suspect in this incident and described the individual as a thin built black male wearing a red hoodie, black sweatpants, and black sneakers police officials said.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from our streets.
