Newark Supermarket Robbed at Gunpoint

A suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a Supermarket in Newark last night had police release surveillance images of the man.

According to police, at approximately 9:15 p.m., police responded to a holdup alarm at 361 South Orange Avenue(M&R Supermarket).

Police said a suspect armed with a gun entered the supermarket and robbed it of cash.

Authorities believe that the suspect wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, red t-shirt, black boots, and pants.

After fleeing the store, police said the suspect ran around the corner onto South 10th Street where he re-entered the same vehicle that he exited and sped off.

The car was last seen traveling northbound on South 10th Street.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
