Police in Newark are investigating a crash that left two women injured in the city's South Ward overnight.
The crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. at the intersections of Madison Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue when a truck lost control and slammed into a vehicle that was occupied by three women and a child according to authorities.
The driver of the vehicle and the child were immediately transported to University Hospital for non-fatal injuries. The other two adult passengers were later taken to the hospital for observation.
The driver of the truck was observed exiting the vehicle and running from the scene.
Authorities are checking to see if the truck was stolen.
The investiation is active and ongoing.
