Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a brazen armed robbery of a restaurant in the city overnight.
According to authorities, an armed man entered the Blimpies located at 467 Lyons Avenue shortly before 5:50 p.m. and announced a robbery.
The suspect pointed a gun at employees and took an undetermined amount of cash before running from the scene.
Police believe the suspect entered a vehicle described as a grey 2004 Lexus 330RX SUV with a reported NJ license plate number "K32-HYH".
The vehicle was reported stolen from a neighborhood in Newark.
Authorities said the suspect is described as a black male who wore a grey sweatsuit and a mask. The suspect is also responsible for an alleged gas station robbery that occurred on Rt. 21.
There were no physical injuries reported.
