Police officials in Newark are on the search for a suspect responsible for a shooting that occurred on a street in the city's South Ward on Saturday night.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of a shooting that occurred in the vicinity of 79 Schley Street just before 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after searching the area, no victims were found.
Police believe that the suspect fled the scene in a gold Jaguar that was reported stolen earlier in the day.
