Police in Newark are searching for the suspect or suspects who fired several rounds of bullets in a South Ward community on Monday evening.
A ShotSpotter device activated in the area of Seymour and Clinton Avenues prompting a police investigation around 6 p.m.
Several police officers arrived and began to detour NJ Transit buses and other traffic after multiple shell casings were discovered on the ground.
Police reported no injuries during the incident.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
