Newark Robbery Suspect Sought

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a male wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on April 27th.

According to authorities, police responded to the 200 block of Stuyvesant Avenue, where a car that was left running was stolen by an unknown male.

Officials say later that same evening, at approximately 11:30 p.m., in the 100 block of Magazine Street, a victim was robbed at gunpoint. Her purse and other personal items were taken. The suspect then fled the location in the stolen vehicle, police added.

According to police, on Apr. 28th at 7:35 a.m., the robbery victim’s credit card was used at a local Quickchek.

Robbery detectives investigating these cases have developed sufficient evidence identifying the male as the suspect in the theft and subsequent robbery.

While detectives are actively searching for the suspect, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him and removing him from the streets.
